Recording and acceptable use
Preserve calls responsibly
CallExhibit is designed to create a credible record, not to bypass consent rules, disguise identity, pressure callers, or manufacture claims.
Recording disclosure
CallExhibit may play an audible recording announcement based on the profile's reviewed policy state and the information available for the call. Where the preference is editable, turning the announcement off does not establish that recording is lawful. Participants can be in different jurisdictions, and consent rules may depend on more than the subscriber's address.
Permitted use
You may use CallExhibit for legitimate personal or business call documentation, customer-approved phone profiles, support troubleshooting, organizing repeated unwanted calls, researching responsible entities, requesting written follow-up, and preserving material for qualified legal or regulatory review.
Prohibited use
- Harassment, threats, stalking, intimidation, or repeated unwanted outbound calls.
- Fraud, impersonation, false caller identity, or attempts to evade carrier or platform controls.
- Recording or distributing a call when you lack required consent or another lawful basis.
- Calling emergency services, premium-rate destinations, or numbers prohibited by the service.
- Editing an original recording and presenting the edit as the original.
- Inventing facts, identities, purchases, losses, or legal conclusions.
- Using reports, publicity, reviews, or criminal accusations as improper leverage for payment.
Caller identity
Subscriber-originated calls require a registered calling line and internal authentication. Outbound caller ID is limited by carrier authorization, STIR/SHAKEN treatment, and service configuration. CallExhibit may use a verified service DID when a subscriber identity cannot be lawfully or technically presented.
Unknown forwarded calls
Forwarded calls must contain a trusted identity that matches an active subscriber profile. Unknown identities are rejected before callback, recording, or evidence processing.
Evidence handling
Keep the original recording and its integrity value. Label notes, excerpts, transcriptions, and interpretations as separate material. Export important evidence before its retention date and verify current court or agency requirements before submission.
Enforcement
CallExhibit may restrict a phone profile or account when use appears to violate this policy, threatens the service, or creates material legal or security risk. Affected customers may be asked for information needed to distinguish legitimate use from abuse.
